Family Information

Our centre operates year-round for 50 weeks, from Monday to Friday, between 7:00am and 6:00pm. We are closed on public holidays and during the Christmas to New Year period.

At our service, we are passionate about early education and deeply value the role it plays in shaping confident, capable learners. Guided by the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework, our curriculum is designed to nurture each child’s curiosity, individuality, and sense of belonging—both as individuals and as part of a group.

Our educational program is a thoughtful blend of planned and spontaneous experiences, tailored to each child’s developmental stage and evolving interests. We believe that meaningful learning happens in the moment, so we’re always looking for “teachable moments” that arise naturally from children's play, questions, and interactions.

Our team of experienced and qualified educators are committed not only to providing nurturing care but also to delivering high-quality educational programs that support every aspect of your child’s growth.

Each day, our educators create rich learning opportunities across key areas of development, including:

Thinking Skills, Concentration, and Problem-Solving: Encouraging children to question, investigate, and develop critical thinking.

Creative Expression through Art, Drama, and Imaginative Play: Providing open-ended opportunities for self-expression and innovation.

Language, Communication, and Early Literacy: Supporting vocabulary development, storytelling, active listening, and foundational literacy.

Social and Emotional Development: Fostering emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience, and relationship skills.

Construction and Manipulative Play: Building spatial awareness, coordination, and logical thinking through hands-on learning.

Gross and Fine Motor Skill Development: Promoting physical health, coordination, and control through active and purposeful play.

Music, Singing, and Movement: Enhancing rhythm, self-regulation, and cultural appreciation through sound and motion.

Individual and Group Experiences: Supporting autonomy and collaboration through small group, paired, and solo play.

Cultural Awareness and Inclusion: Encouraging children to appreciate diversity and develop respectful relationships.

Connection with Land and Nature: Inspiring environmental awareness, sustainability practices, and a love for the natural world.

Emotional Literacy and Wellbeing: Helping children identify and manage emotions using tools like mindfulness, reflection, and guided discussions.

Identity, Belonging, and Self-Confidence: Nurturing a strong sense of self, agency, and connection to community and family.

Digital Literacy (Where Age-Appropriate): Supporting children's safe and meaningful engagement with technology as part of their learning journey.

These learning experiences are offered both indoors and outdoors, and in small group settings to support meaningful engagement. Educators carefully plan, observe, and evaluate each program daily—making adjustments based on your child’s needs, interests, family input, and learning progress. We view families as essential partners in a child’s learning journey and welcome your feedback, ideas, and insights to help us create the most supportive and inspiring environment possible.

Our Junior and Senior Preschool classrooms are thoughtfully designed to facilitate children's smooth transition to school. Throughout the year, we implement developmentally appropriate programming aimed at preparing children for this important step. Activities within these groups are intentionally structured to be more in-depth and challenging, recognising young learners’ strong curiosity and drive to explore.

We maintain close collaboration with local schools and the Education Department to ensure that our curriculum aligns with all guidelines regarding the transition from preschool to school. The curriculum addresses social, emotional, and academic domains to provide each child with an optimal foundation for future learning. We also engage in regular consultations with families, offering our professional insights and observations on each child's readiness for school based on their progress and interactions in a group environment.

We also plan our experiences each day to help children to achieve the five Early Years Learning Framework Outcomes. You will receive a midyear report assessing your child’s learning against these outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
  • Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

These learning outcomes have been designed to ensure children are prepared for a future of successful learning.

Educators are trained to observe and interpret children's development across various domains. They regularly monitor each child's progress and establish both short-term and long-term objectives, which guide planned activities and experiences. Families can review their child’s development through online educational portfolios (Kinderloop) and discuss these in more detail during family meetings. Additionally, families are invited to contribute information from home and provide input throughout the year to support the connection between the home and care environments.

Each of our classrooms is thoughtfully arranged with a range of learning areas that support hands-on exploration, creativity, and discovery. These spaces are designed to be inviting and accessible, encouraging children to make choices, engage deeply in play, and build on their interests and developmental needs.

Some of the key learning areas you may see in our rooms include:

Exploration Centre: A space with loose parts and open-ended materials for curious minds to engage in hands-on discovery and open-ended play, encouraging creativity and experimentation.

Sensory Centre: Especially popular in our younger rooms, this area invites children to explore through touch, smell, and sight with messy play, water, sand, and other sensory-rich experiences that support brain development.

Construction Centre: Designed for building, problem-solving, and imaginative play. Children use blocks, connectors, and a variety of construction tools to create structures while developing spatial awareness and collaboration skills.

Writing & Literacy Centre: A space that supports fine motor development and early literacy skills. Children can engage in drawing, tracing, name writing, letter recognition, and other pre-writing activities at their own pace.

Book & Reading Centre: A calm and cozy space where children can relax and enjoy books, storytelling, puppets, and felt board activities. This area encourages a love of reading and supports language development.

Thinking Centre: Here, children can focus on puzzles, matching games, sequencing tasks, and cause-and-effect activities that promote concentration, logical thinking, and persistence.

Dramatic Play Centre: A place for imagination to flourish! Children explore role play, dress-ups, and pretend scenarios that support their social skills, self-expression, and understanding of the world around them.

Creative Arts Centre: This vibrant area invites children to express themselves through art and craft activities such as painting, cutting, pasting, threading, and working with play dough. It’s all about creativity and confidence.

Technology Station: We incorporate age-appropriate technology into our daily program for our preschoolers using iPads, and an interactive smart board. These tools are used to enhance learning through educational apps, storytelling, drawing, and collaborative group activities.

Cultural Exploration Area: This space introduces children to the diverse cultures within our community and around the world. It’s a place to celebrate traditions, share stories, and learn about different ways of life in an inclusive and respectful environment.

Each learning centre is carefully planned and regularly refreshed to reflect the children's interests, developmental stages, and the learning goals of our program. These environments help foster independence, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our centre features thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces that provide safe, engaging, and age-appropriate play for all children.

Downstairs has a large playground used by children of all ages, with a separate gated area for babies to explore safely when older children are outside. Upstairs, there is a playground dedicated exclusively to our preschool children, giving them space to play and learn independently.

Our outdoor environments encourage a strong connection to nature and hands-on learning. Children develop gross motor skills through activities such as obstacle courses, open running areas, balancing challenges, sand play, and water play. They also enjoy caring for our rabbit, learning responsibility, empathy, and the joys of looking after animals.

The bush tucker garden provides opportunities for children to plant, nurture, and harvest native fruits, vegetables, and herbs. This experience promotes curiosity, sustainability, and an understanding of healthy eating. Our outdoor areas also include a sandpit, where children can engage in imaginative and sensory play while interacting cooperatively with peers.

Through these outdoor experiences, children build physical skills, explore the natural world, and engage in creative and meaningful play that nurtures curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

All meals are prepared and delivered daily by a professional catering company who are able to cater for all allergies and dietary requirements. Our menu is a 6 week menu which rotates daily. It is thoughtfully designed to feature a variety of dishes inspired by cultures from our community, and around the world.

Mealtimes take place in our dining room, where children engage in conversations about nutrition, healthy eating, etiquette, and manners, fostering a positive relationship with food.

Our service is committed to implementing the NSW Child Safe Standards. The safety, health and wellbeing of children is the number one priority of all staff and volunteers who understand children’s safety is a shared responsibility. We have zero tolerance for any breaches of child safety and are committed to acting in children’s best interests.

Our policies and procedures support and inform this commitment, and our leaders and managers regularly review staff and volunteer practices and understanding, prioritising training or taking other relevant action if required.
